An Institute is like a Fruiting Tree

"My ideal indeed can be put into a few words and that is: to preach unto                    mankind their divinity, and how to make it manifest in every movement                  of life. God is in every man, whether man knows it or not; your loving                        devotion is bound to call up the divinity in him.

 - - -  Swami Vivekananda

  • The Vedanta Movement was started by Swami Vivekananda in the mid-1890s under a Divine plan to fulfill the above objective.

  • He envisaged an association of sincere and dedicated individuals with common goal in sight who can become a powerful gigantic machine to accomplish wonders which is impossible to attain individually.

  • Such an institution is like a fruiting tree which gives shelter, support and life sustaining fruits to the weary passers-by of the society who come in close contact with it.

  • Like a tree an institution also requires timely nourishment and nurturing.

  • The best way to nourish this great institution is to become a sincere and righteous member of it and be a part of this divine family and the divine plan.

  • The Vedanta Society of Portland welcomes those dedicated and sincere divinities who also take part in its activities.

  • A member of the Vedanta Society also gets -
